The Beginning

My interest in design sparked when I was just a child. Unbeknownst to me, my innocent hobby of creating clothes out of recycled materials my mother would give me would blossom into a true passion in design. As a consistent supporter of my dreams, my mother is the hero in my vision. However, even she had a kryptonite and it was using technology. Her lack of user interface understanding despite living in Silicon Valley baffled me as a member of Generation Z. Realizing that using my familiarity with technology and problem solving skills, I can create products that are accessible to everyone.

The Current

I studied Design Media Arts at University of California, Los Angeles to further develop my career path as a designer. The variety of visual design skills I have accumulated during my time there allowed me to realize that I desired something more. I wanted to polish my problem solving skills so I could actually create intuitive design instead of simply assuming I can. I am currently pursuing a Masters in Human Computer Interaction at Georgia Tech where I am not only deep diving into the art of product design but also experiencing life somewhere that is not California for the first time.

The Future

As our current world continuously immerses itself into emerging technology, are we as designers properly equipped to execute all forms of problem solving for the people despite the novel obstacles we face? Like the hero my mother was for me, I strive to create a positive impact through design and technology, no matter big or small. With the power of today’s knowledge, I can push the boundaries and design a better tomorrow.
